POWW Inc. is looking to fill 3 very important volunteer positions. We need to fill the positions soon so that the incoming person will have plenty of time to work with the current volunteer to learn the responsibilities of the position.
Position #1: POWW President
POWW is looking for someone to shadow and take over as POWW President. Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Work with treasurer to develop a budget of expenses (based on previous years’ history and current year needs)
Coordinate the annual Back to School Event with Office staff and Principal.
Work with Principal and board to schedule all events (both fundraisers and “fun”raisers) for the year.
Organize volunteers to chair each event/fundraiser, following up with each chairperson 4-6 weeks prior to the event and then after.
Work with Tax Representative to complete POWW Inc taxes.
Coordinate with Principal, POWW Board of Directors and Volunteer chairpersons as needs arise.
Run monthly BOD (Board of Directors) meetings according to the current Bylaws.
Work proactively to come up with new ideas for fundraising.
Be the face of POWW, ready to answer questions or direct parents where to go for answers to their questions and concerns.
Work with Alicia and daily items that come up throughout the year.
Liaison with and provide support for:
POWW Board of Directors
Tax Representative and Accountant
Room Parent Coordinators (ensure all school events are well-advertised to families)
Event chairpersons (make sure flyers get approved and timelines/budgets are met)
Corporate Sponsor Coordinator (ensure sponsors are in good standing)
Social Media Coordinator (verify that Facebook posts are positive, website has most updated information)
Spirit Store Coordinator (add new styles, designs and items to sell as needed)
Position #2: Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) Public Relations
The AGC Public Relations responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Supervise POWW’s largest fundraiser, the Annual Giving Campaign, at the beginning of the school year, executing the plan approved by the POWW board of directors. Previous fundraising skills are a bonus for this position, but not necessary!
Speak to large and small audiences asking parents for donations.
Coordinate and direct volunteers to support responsibilities listed above.
Interface with POWW's BOD and Principal Yoo
Position #3: Annual Giving Campaign (AGC) Operations/Materials
The AGC Operations/Materials responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Develop campaign plan and budget with committee members’ input to present to the POWW board for approval in Spring.
Create and distribute:
Ensure appropriate flyers and written materials are available for Back to School Picnic, Student Assemblies, Back to School Night, End of Campaign
Coordinate and direct volunteers to support all of the above.
Support team as needed with Back-to-School Event, Back to School Night, student assemblies, helping with treat fairy.
